We are tackling projects around the farmhouse bit by bit. One priority job was to build frames for the guest beds to make them usable as singles or as king beds by pushing them together.
The question arose as to how to make the legs. Inspiration struck at Jack’s Main Street Antiques in the form of an antique four poster bed. What if we were to cut legs from the ornate seven foot long posters? It would certainly mean that the guest beds would end up with one-of-a-kind legs.
We cut sixteen legs, each approximately 10 inches in length. These were lightly sanded, an adhesive paint was applied, and chalk paint was applied for the finishing touches. They turned out quite nicely and we were glad to get our overnight guests up off the floor - finally!
More house projects to come, but fortunately it is in really good shape due to the loving care provided by the Fairs for the 50 years they lived there before we arrived.
